Murdoch

(DeviantArt really needs categories for character design, like for animation. Has different expectations and standards than saying just drawings or fantasy or fanart, especially when talking about original designs.)

Did a new design for Murdoch, he's going to be used in my next animation, and I couldn't find the old character design to reference, so I recreated him from memory and built him off of the other troll artwork I've done, building them up into a specific race.

I realized as I was drawing him that he's got a very 'wolverine' feeling going on, mostly because of the muttonchops. (plus, if you interpreted those horns as hair, they'd fit Wolvie's characteristic winged hairstyle pretty well.

Had to fight the urge to bulk him out when I was extending the drawing down the neck and shoulders, he's supposed to have a slimmer build, and more of a slope to his posture.

Now I need to do some fullbody poses, and maybe an expression sheet, all in prep of putting him into the storyboards. (But first, dinner!)
